"Weekends I Prefer the Weekends Aha hah ha ha ha ha!"- Will Ferrel as the Devil

Listen people, I don't know if you guys have figured this out yet, but I live for stuff to blog about, I carry my camera with me everywhere in hopes that at some point I can snap shots of something interesting and either make it my profile picture on facebook or throw it up on my blog, and this weekend blogging topics where not in short supply!

For the second time I hosted the Lip Sync Contest at Springfest, the theme was music from the 80's and so you know I had to represent!

Here's my salute to Madonna's MTV Video music performance of "Like a Virgin" minus the rolling around on stage.

I secretly want this dress to keep forever!!!! I would wear it everyday!!!!!

Angie posted some stories about Saturday's events so check her blog out for more details, but I also hosted Springfest Idol, and i think it went well other then in 17 and under division 3 out of the 10 performers sang "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree" (I didn't know it was 2006) and Angie and Michelle felt like they where at Creationfest due to the amount of Praise songs sang for the 18 and older round, The guy that won was the only one who didn't sing something from church, he sang Foreigner's "Cold as Ice" and he was actually really good!
We hit up the moonlight Parade, got attacked by a Carnie and I discovered I can't go out in public anymore without getting recognized!

It's Snuggie Time!!!!!!

Monday Angie decided a road trip to Leavenworth was in order, so off we went to get a little Bavarian culture, and so I could pay homage to my people!

Ahhh men in literhosen (sp?). . . . doesn't get much better then that!

Fierce, fierce, fierce, fabulous!

Us at the Munchen Haus yah, gettin' our Brat on!

The highlight of my Leavenworth trip was this little shop, simply titled "The Hat Shop"

And there where hats. . . . oh yes there where hats. . . . .

But their glasses collection was amazing, here are some of my favorites that we saw!

". . . .and this is Dixie Wetsworth Mahhhhh! Dance for me Pool Boy!"

"I cannot tell a lie!"

"if i could Turn Back Time. . . .WoooH!"

"Domo Arrigato Mr. Robato!"

"My, My, My Poker Face, My, My Poker face"

"Greetings Earthlings we have now taken over your radio"

"Wasted Away Again at Margaritaville"

but this picture by far steals the show. . . . I'm pretty sure I've seen this exact shot in my Parents High School Annual!

"Peggy Sue, Peggy Sue, oh how I love my Peggy Sue!"

Pretty sweet right?

anyway the fun doesn't stop there, towards the end of our little day trip I got talked into climbing this rock wall they had set up in the middle of town. No that is not me pictured towards the top of the wall, that is a much more successful little kid!

Here's Emily still feeling optimistic that she could actually do this, even though the only thing she lifts regularly is the remote control as long as Angie's not around.

Here I am up. . . . .

. . . . .and here I am down!

Best idea ever guys!!!!!

I don't even think I made it half way up, and my arms where killing me, so this was a classic example of all pain, no gain.

Someday Rock wall . . . you will be mine!

Great weekend, lots of fun memories, hope you all had the same!

Peace Out!

"Off to the Cupboard with you now chip, it's past your bedtime. . . .night love"- Mrs. Potts

Good News!

I finally made it on YouTube!

(well one time Kyle posted a video of Suzette and I singing at Shari's but no one could ever find it!)

Anyway, Phil Law who videod our production, posted a little montage of scenes from the show to Jasmine (Mrs. Potts) and I singing Beauty and the Beast. So if you'd like to check it out here it is for all the world to enjoy!

Peace Out!

"And I’ll taste every moment and live it out loud I know this is the time, this is the time. . . "- David Cook

This is the first time in Idol History that Emily has been left with a dissatisfied feeling with the results. Not that Kris Allen is undeserving, because he certainly is adorable and a good artist and blah blah blah, but I found him quite boring!
I wasn't totally into Adam either, sometimes he sounded like he was imitating a black woman in a baptist choir on Sunday, and meaning as he's a dude it kinda threw me off a bit, plus Angie hated him so it made it difficult for me to appreciate what he had to offer, I will say this, I really feel like the Gay community really needed this win on idol for a morale boost, I mean they've suffered a few loses this past year, and I feel kinda bad for them! :) Apparently the Christian community banded together once again and pulled the rug out from under them.. . . . . . Oh I'm just kidding, nobody better read this and go all crazy on me in my comments box!

Anyway this past season I've enjoyed some things even though I didn't get the ending I wanted, and so now I present to you my. . . . .

Top 5 Favorite Moments on Idol this season!

5. Norman Gentle's Top 36 Performance-

OK so I'm not exactly sure why he sang the same song over and over again, but when he hit that stage and started jabbing at the audience between phrases, telling someone to hold his glasses and giving shout outs to Sean Patrick Harris, I was like this man is funny, and promptly forgave him for the repeat song! And I still think he's funny and someone should give him a job, especially since he made it all the way through Hollywood as a goof, I respect that!

4. Danny Gokey Channeling his inner Temptation!

Although I didn't care for his song choice during Mo-Town week, I did love and appreciate the fact that he took the time to synchronize his dance steps with the back up singers, as a nod to how they really did things back then.

3. Matt Giraud's rendition of "Let's Get it On"-

I love this tune and in the past I've been like. . . ."nobody can top Marvin so don't even try!" but Matt on that piano singing the crap out of that song made me really happy inside and it was the first time all season I said to myself I must have that on my ipod. It was my most favorite performance this season!

2. Adam Lambert's Rock infused "Change Gon' Come"-

Another untouchable song that you would normally think no white man could justify doing due to it's meaning, I mean it was written in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement if I remember correctly. For some reason though, It worked with Adam, I don't think any other contestant could have pulled it off.

1. Bikini Girl getting her just rewards!

Well maybe not making it to the Top 24 could be considered justice, but the icing on the cake was after she came sashaying across the stage with the new girls out for everyone to see, I couldn't help but smirk when I saw the look of fear and uncertainty on her face as she started to sing (out of tune mind you!) the Mariah Carey jam she auditioned with especially after she fained such confidence previous to that moment. Oh also news flash bikini girl if you have to wobble your chin to accomplish some what of a vibrato. . .well then you are doing it wrong! Anyway that's not even the best part, when Kara came out and completely showed her up, and they shut off bikini girls mic and she's was all trying to save face, well let me say in the words of MasterCard, it was priceless!

I could have done without a lot of things this time around on idol, for example bringing back the wild card round. . . . . HATED IT! The lip synced group numbers. . . . .HATED IT!!! Queen Latifah's cat suit and the No Boundaries song, (sorry Kara). . . . HATED IT!

But that is the past and I'm hope they make some necessary changes next year.

Now I'm focusing my energy towards "So You Think You Can Dance", and preparing my ears to hear Mary Murphy's squeaks and squeals for another season, man that lady is crazy, good thing the show is SO awesome!
Happy Reality TV watching!
Peace Out!

"To All the Ladies in the place with style and grace!"- Notorious BIG

This is just one of the many fun things I did this weekend, with my good buddies Kayla Chamberlain and Whitney Smith!

After a fun filled adventure in Quincy in honor of our friend Kelly Hodges Birthday, we had to make a stop at WalMart so I could collect the makings for Fruit Pizza for Linger Longer later that day after church, (I say later that day because it was a little after 4 AM when we arrived. . . .it's not the Sabbath until you go to sleep right?)

Whitney is really getting into character here!

Here is the epitome of laziness! Hey Whitney can you get that for me?
Yeah, yeah right there!
No, No, little to the left!

Yes, Finally!!!!

Kayla laying low and keeping it cool! No unnecessary cart usage here sir!

Bumper carts anyone?

Our reasoning for this is totally legit!

Do I look like I just got caught doing something I shouldn't or what?

This is officially my favorite thing to do at 4 AM

More fun weekend stories to come!
Peace out!

"My son is now an "entrepreneur." That's what you're called when you don't have a job."- Ted Turner

Hello Friends!

Due to Budget cuts at the Boys and Girls club I found out that my hours are being reduced this summer to 2 1/2, and well I pretty much can't live off of that, so does anyone out there know of any openings, or people who need workers for the summer? I know,I know who isn't trying to find a job now a days, but I figured I should leave no stone unturned. . . . right? SO if any of you know about anything, I would be greatful if you dropped me a line! Thanks a bunch!

P.S.

Aubs if you are reading this, I know what you must be thinking, and please believe I'm punching myself in the face right now!

“Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did”- George Carlin

First things first before we get started here I would like one and all to know that the pictures on this blog are all pictures I stole off of Angie's blog to scrounge up this little number, (so all credit goes to her and her camera that is almost always more accessible then mine and takes way better pictures!)

moving on!

Here's the question I get asked on a daily basis

Hey Emily, What's going on?

or

Hey Emily, What's New?

And presently I feel like there's so much, and yet nothing really that's "Going On"

I've sat and contemplated the last few weeks about whether or not my life is really exciting right now, and the general consensus in my mind is no!

Don't get me wrong, I am content, and I'll tell you why. . . . . . first of all

I live with the cutest baby in the whole world!

I think I'm starting to rub off on her!

Seriously I've become "That Person" that shows you pictures of their kids only it's even worse because she's not even mine! I'm always like. . . .have you seen my roommates baby? (Shove my phone in your face) isn't she the cutest thing in the world? I realize it's probably annoying, but I can't help it, I need people to understand that we are not dealing with a normal baby here! And when I come home she's so excited to see me, she gives me the biggest smiles, and I just love her to pieces!

and Qiana's Mommy is not too shabby to have around either!

Here's some super fun things Angie and I have done the last few months.

a major one was Easter

We got each other Easter Baskets, and well lets just say it was the best idea ever!

Angie is the biggest Twilight fan in the universe (psych) so naturally when I saw these Twilight candies I was like I gotta get her those, that's just too funny! I mean twilight themed conversation hearts, BRILLIANT! Then I scoped around a little more and saw that Hastings had a Jack Bauer action figure complete with a cell phone that gets reception anywhere and interchangeable hands just in case he needs to punch someone real bad! It was a must buy because until someone finds a Tupac doll for Angie's collection I think Biggie smalls is getting a little lonesome, (yes Angie has a Notorious BIG doll) Anyway, Walmart also made things easy by color coding their candy aisle, so Angie got all her favorite Easter treats in her favorite color Orange!

Please excuse my haggard appearance in these photos, we had play practice pretty late the night before and so I ended up sleeping in my make-up, and Angie woke me up the next morning and I didn't have any time to primp before pictures where taken, so excuse my bed hair, and crazy face!

But like Angie usually does, she totally topped me, because not only did she get me this amazing Easter dress! (It's even better ironed) but. . . . . .

She also got me a SNUGGIE!!!! Jealous? You should be, I mocked. . . Oh you best believe I mocked, but I am a Snuggie convert people! It is glorious and next to Angie's Easter Basket exchange, it's the 2nd best idea EVER!!!! Let me know if you wanna try it out, it will change your life!

We hit up the Tulip Festival again this year, and except for the crazy long line to get ice cream this time around everything was awesome as usual!

Michelle and I managed to make spectacles of ourselves for example. . .this shot,
started off OK. . . .

and then this happened!
Humpty dumpty had a great fall!
Then Angie attempted to capture Michelle and I frolicking through the Garden. . . came out great don't you think? wink wink

The Tulip Festival is a great place for Senior Portraits, all that's missing is my Letterman's jacket tossed over my shoulder!

Then just last week, Kyle Noyes aka Gaston from the play offered me free tickets to see Spamalot, so off to Spokane Angie and I went and once again had the best time, we saw that musical a few years ago, and so it was nice to see it again, and be reminded of how funny it was!

And just like every trip we take does we had ourselves a great meal, we hit up the Old Spaghetti factory and man was it delightful!

So, all in all I'm very happy to be where I am! There's is not much new in my life, but I'm doing fun things with people I love and care about, I'm working, I'm learning, and that's all I can ask for! So if you don't know, now you know!

Peace Out!
